A hidden gem I discovered passing the long line of cars waiting on the highway to get in. Went to try it myself the following week. Simply amazing! Thought it was a little pricey for not being hibachi tables, but definitely worth the trip.

So i really loved Akitas but.. since they have went up on their prices it seems like the chicken/steak has gotten more chewy an kinda hard to eat, the carrots have gotten a little slimy?.. didn't know that could happen. An parking lot is super small! So if you're going through the drive through you may end up on the highway from the line being backed up so definitely be careful.. I figured if the price goes up the food would get better but it hasn't been the past four times I have been.

I went there yesterday for my birthday. The meat was over cooked and the rice was cold. I also wanted to have them put my vegetables on the side they wouldn't do it unless I paid extra and the food wasn't worth what I paid for to begin with. I will not be going back.

We eat at Akita Express at least once a week. Our meal is always hot and fresh. If you want great food, just be patient and wait in the line for 15 min... it goes by fast.

5/18, Try the steak it’s really good! 4/2022, I checked out this locally popular Japanese take out place and I am pleasantly surprised! I know Japanese food well and certainly didn’t expect too much from a restaurant in a small TN town. So I ordered the Hibachi chicken, see pic. The size is big (Huge actually) lots of chicken, mushrooms and carrots. Rice is also included. The sauce came separately and I like that. I only needed half of it and really enjoyed my dinner. Be aware that the line during peak time is very long.. I was told. Went back to try the Teriyaki chicken today.. sweeter this time. But wonder why the same source?
